Brian Moynihan stops by Barron's for a conversation on everything from inflation to crypto.

Brian Moynihan almost revels in being understated. Unlike some of his brasher CEO brethren, Moynihan, chief executive of Bank of America the nation’s second largest bank by assets after JPMorgan Chase usually likes to let the numbers do the talking.

And the numbers for the bank during Moynihan’s tenure—he became CEO in January 2010—have for the most part been pretty darn good. Two caveats: 1) Moynihan was hindered by having to address legacy issues from the 2008-09 financial crisis, and 2) the stock market hasn’t been particularly eager to assign high valuations to bank stocks, even a powerhouse like Bank of America (ticker: BAC).
